The Gibson XL - Prototype - X BB&Fco
A collaboration of BB&Fco and 3DP Design. A true prototype, first of its kind. The Gibson XL. 3d printed in 316L SSS. Based on our popular Gibson shape but larger, stretched out heel to toe, and the internal section of the putter filled with a large piece of 3d printed aluminum and about 45g of tungsten in the toe to shift the cg toward the center of the blade and boost the moi. In fact the moi on this putter is competitive with a standard Anser style.
348g (just over 350 with ferrule installed) 3/70. Fly mill face pattern on a solid body face (no insert).
This putter is entirely unique in terms of its size and construction By using a multi-material approach we were able to make the largest heel shafted blade putter we’ve ever seen It’s not gargantuan but it is noticeably larger than a typical blade. At first glance it seems larger than life but once you set it down behind a ball it frames it beautifully and the size just inspires confidence The sweet spot is huge compared to a traditional heel shafted blade and yet it still has the toe flow and playing characteristics of a classic blade style. For those old enough to remember, it’s a bit like the first time you ever hit a Great Big Bertha- the first time you saw it it looked huge but after you hit it a couple times it just felt amazing and that size just made it look easy to hit and you couldn’t wait to tee up another.
This putter has no alignment markings but any can be added on request (dot/line/logo/whatever). Comes with a KBS CT Tour 120 shaft and your choice of grip. Upgraded shaft options available - must accommodate a shaft-over-post connection style. Currently has a double deluxe 2” ferrule installed but that can be swapped out on request
