Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our ferrules, materials, and ordering.
What is a golf club ferrule and why does it matter?
A ferrule is the small collar or ring that sits at the top of a golf club hosel, right where the shaft meets the clubhead. While it may seem like a minor detail, the ferrule plays an important role in both the structural finish of a club and its overall appearance. It protects the hosel edge, covers the epoxy bond between shaft and hosel, and gives the club a clean, professional look. For custom club builders and golfers who care about the details, the ferrule is the finishing touch that ties the entire build together. At BB&F Co., we design ferrules that go beyond function β each one is an opportunity to make your clubs uniquely yours.
What materials are BB&F Co. ferrules available in?
BB&F Co. offers ferrules in four materials β plastic, aluminum, titanium, and 3D-printed. Plastic ferrules are the most popular option and are sold in sets of 10, making them ideal for a full set build. Aluminum and titanium ferrules are metal options that offer a premium, high-end finish and are sold individually rather than in sets. 3D-printed ferrules allow for more complex geometries and unique surface textures that are not achievable through traditional manufacturing. Each material has its own character, and the right choice depends on your build goals, budget, and the look you are after.
What shaft sizes are BB&F Co. ferrules compatible with?
Unless otherwise noted on the product listing, all BB&F Co. ferrules are designed for .355" taper-tip shafts. They are also compatible with .370" parallel shafts, though a slight reaming of the ferrule bore is recommended before installation to ensure a proper fit. If you are building for .335" shafts, we carry a dedicated collection specifically designed for that tip size. Always check the product description before ordering if you have a non-standard shaft tip diameter, or reach out to us directly and we will point you in the right direction.
How long does shipping take and are there any free shipping thresholds?
For standard plastic ferrule orders within the United States, we ship via USPS Priority Mail. Orders of $100 USD or more qualify for free shipping within the US. For customers in Canada and Mexico, free shipping is available on orders of $175 USD or more. Aluminum and titanium (metal) ferrules are produced at a separate facility and have a longer lead time β please allow 10 to 15 business days for those orders to ship. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive tracking information via email. For any shipping questions, contact us at Patrick@bbandfco.com.
Can I place a custom or special order for a unique ferrule design?
Yes. BB&F Co. accepts custom and special orders for golfers, club builders, and OEM manufacturers who need something specific. Whether you have a particular color combination in mind, a logo or branding element you want incorporated, or a unique size requirement, we can work with you to bring your vision to life. BB&F Co. has been partnering with OEM golf manufacturers on custom ferrule projects since 2007, so we have the experience and capability to handle both individual custom requests and larger production runs. To get started, visit our Custom Orders page or email Patrick directly at Patrick@bbandfco.com with the details of your project.
How often are new ferrule designs released?
New designs are added to the BB&F Co. catalog every single day. With over 6,000 unique designs already available and more dropping regularly, there is always something new to discover whether you are a returning customer or browsing for the first time. Fresh releases are listed under the Fresh Designs collection on the website, which is the best place to check for the latest drops. What is your return and refund policy?
We want every customer to be happy with their BB&F Co. order. If there is an issue with your purchase β whether that is a defective product, an incorrect item, or damage during shipping β please get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can make it right. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and the return process, please refer to our Refund Policy page on the website. Custom and special orders may be subject to different terms given their made-to-order nature, so we recommend reviewing those details or confirming with us before placing a custom request.
Does BB&F Co. work with professional club builders and OEM manufacturers?
Absolutely. BB&F Co. has been a trusted supplier to OEM golf manufacturers since 2007 and currently partners with eight manufacturers on custom ferrule projects. We work with independent club builders, custom shops, pro shops, and larger production operations.
